Ronnie Fernandez, LCSW
My Clinical Background & Expertise
I bring 13 years of licensed clinical experience to our sessions. I graduated with my Master of Social Work from the USC School of Social Work. Over the last decade, I have focused my clinical training and practice on helping people navigate complex behavioral and emotional challenges, specializing deeply in:
Men’s Issues
Depression & Anxiety
Anger Management
Because of my background, I understand that depression and chronic stress often look completely different in men than what most people think. It rarely shows up as simple sadness. Instead, it manifests physically and behaviorally: as an increase in irritability, aggressiveness, impulsiveness, sudden angry outbursts, changes in concentration or sleep, and slowly withdrawing from the relationships that matter most to you.
My Philosophy: Responsibility Without the Overwhelm
My approach is direct, action-oriented, and structured. We are not going to sit around analyzing the distant past or engaging in endless, open-ended talk therapy on a couch. Instead, I use evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Behavioral Activation to treat your mind like a gym.
I want to help you learn how to actively navigate your daily responsibilities while deciding exactly who you want to be. I understand that there isn't just one "right" path to having a successful career and maintaining adult responsibilities. Together, we will build practical, real-world tools that allow you to be highly responsible, clear-headed, and connected to your life—without making you feel overwhelmed through the process.
Whether we connect for individual daytime sessions at my Downey office or securely online, my goal is to help you stop running in the red, reclaim your active drive, and build a life of genuine alignment.
